I acquired it. It weighs 6500 lbs. It’s rather old.
I’ve got to check/fix the brakes and lights this weekend.

Good god. Are you hauling tanks ?

Eh, I think a half-ton could pull that. Just don’t load it with anything!

Apparently it was used to haul combines, it’s absurd. I’m hauling 5 tons of wood.

Make sure the trailer jack works smoothly, check the tiedown loops to see if they’re all good, grease up the goose (bearing grease is fine), and make sure the ramps can be latched/tied down.
Also, don’t bash the gooseneck into the tailgate (or bedside or cab) lol rookie mistake.

Yep, we’re gonna get it all sorted this weekend. We’ve got a good spare tire too.

Gadamn, that’s a lot of trailer!

That trailer alone is 700 pounds more than my Sierra’s tow rating.

Ciol. Look over those tires real good too. And try to find some safety chains for that thing.

The Bio-Ag guys are putting safety chains on it and checking the oil in the hubs.

Yes, yes it is. The frame rails are beyond massive.

Buy an used 1 ton diesel and start a hauling business. Throw on some new paint on the trailer and it look new.

You know, that really surprises me. A properly-equipped Colorado is rated for more than that. It kinda screws with how I was expecting truck hierarchy to work.

Dang! What are you going to be pulling it with?

My truck is the heaviest and lightest duty 1500 you can get. It’s a heavy crew cab with the 4.8 motor and a 3.20:1 rear end. I’m pretty sure the fact that it had the 4.8, is why I got a brand new crew cab truck out the door for less than $22k. I don’t know how many crew cabs they sold with a 4.8, but it’s so few that combination isn’t even listed in the tow rating page of the owners manual. I had to extrapolate from the other cab and motor combos to figure out that it’s rated to tow 5700 pounds.

Hopefully a 1 ton pickup, I’m still sourcing that.

I know right? I’m technically just borrowing this for a while.

If you’re going older, check out the W-Series Rams. 12v Cummins, built like tanks. And they look good too!

I’m in talks with a dealer to let us borrow a truck for a week.
